Following the results of PE’s 2019 National Rankings competitions which combined Singles (x1), Doubles (x2) and Triples (x3), the individual assessment of players and consideration of the team formation, PE is pleased to announce that Sarah Huntley, Emma Longstaff (automatic qualification), Sammy Thatcher and Claire White (automatic qualification) will be representing our country in Phnom Penh, Cambodia at the FIPJP Women’s World Championships.

Commiserations to Becky Edwins and Kaylee Thatcher who by virtue of finishing 6th and 5th respectively in our National Rankings were considered for the team but were unsuccessful in being selected on this occasion.

All six players form part of our National Women’s Squad 2019/20 and will also be considered for selection for the 2020 European Championships between 4 – 7 June 2020 in El Ejido, Spain.

The FIPJP-run tournament will take place between 17 – 24 November and will run alongside the Youth World Championships. The precise format and schedule are yet to be announced by the organisers. We will update when we have the details of this.

Our team will be supported by Rowland Jones (Coach) and Annette Eggleton (Head of Delegation).

We’re sure that everyone will want to wish the delegation all the very best for the tournament.

I’ll be there in Phnom Penh, to support our gals. Petanque is a passion in the “Kingdom of Wonder”. I have played at the National Stadium, where the championships are being held. 1st class courts and atmosphere. If England get past the preliminaries, I’ll treat the team to a Ruby Murray at the Taj, on the-riverfront

    COME ON ENGLAND!!
