14th April 20191

The Spring Open held at the Whitnash Club in Heart of England always signals the beginning of the new season and 32 teams from 10 different PE regions competed in the fresh Spring conditions.

In a precursor to the EuroCup Finals Day, where the same clubs will face each other, the final saw London 1, comprising Sylvestre Manansey, Dean Seville and Claire White against the Baldock Town team of Jack Blows, Sarah Huntley and Ross Jones.

London 1 had earlier defeated their club teammates Nic Baxter, Sofiane Lachani and Monty Quaia (London 2) in the semi final, while Baldock came out on top against the East Mids/Northern triple of Dag Nygaard, Liz Nygaard and John Edmondson. The London semi final was streamed live and can be seen here on PE’s official Facebook page

The Baldock Town team prevailed 13-7 and bagged the first prize of £225.

In the Silver competition, it was success for the Chiltern trio of Giles Beaumont, Johnny Bowden and Gareth Sullivan.

Congratulations to the organisers for yet another enjoyable competition.
