GDPR takes a very wide view of what personal data means, defining it as “any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person”.
A data subject is the individual whom personal data is about.
In Petanque this includes players, coaches, umpires and volunteers.
A data controller decides how personal data will be used, and often processes this information.
A data processor processes personal data on behalf of a data controller.
Petanque England manages the Sport:80 platform, so is a data controller with the responsibility to only collect relevant data and to manage it responsibly, following the principles GDPR.
As an individual who collects and uses data in the Sport:80 platform for a Petanque Club, League or Region you are a data processor and must follow the rules and principles of GDPR.
