Following further work by our Events Group, we can confirm the finalised competition formats and also the prize fund allocation which is £1,500 overall.
Please note on prize money that winners will need to send their bank details to our National Treasurer, Cary Bush by emailing treasurer@petanque-england.uk who will ensure payments are made.
Prize money will only be paid out in the Main Competitions, there are no prizes in the Plate Competitions.
We ask all players to think about their fellow competitors’ enjoyment of the day before taking any decision to withdraw due to elimination from the Main Competitions. If any player wishes to leave early, please have the courtesy to discuss with your opponent prior to departure. This is a matter of respect for fellow members.

WOMEN’S SINGLES – SATURDAY (18 players)
MORNING – three non-time limited matches in 4 poules (3×4 and 1×6) all pre-drawn and allocated pitches. Lunch takes place at conclusion of poules.
GOLD – winners of morning 4 poules, runner-up from poule of 6 plus next 3 best scores by games/points go into knockout in afternoon (8 players).
GOLD prizes:
Winner – £120
R/up – £60
Losing SF x 2 – £35 each
GOLD Plate – played by four losers of first round of knockout.
SILVER – players ranked 9-14 by games/points in the poules automatically qualify (6 players), 15-18 play off to get into the Top 8 (4 players). Note that playoffs for Silver do not need to take place at same time as Men’s cadrage.

Winner – £25
R/up – £15
SILVER Plate – played by four losers of first round of knockout.
No BRONZE – losers in Silver playoff eliminated (2 players). If these two players want to play informally they are welcome to do so.

MEN’S SINGLES – SATURDAY (56 players)
MORNING – three non-time limited matches in 14 poules (14×4) all pre-drawn and allocated pitches. Lunch takes place at conclusion of poules, except for those involved in the Gold Cadrage. 30 minutes allocated minimum break for those in Cadrage.
GOLD – winners of 4 poules plus next best 10 by games/points go into Gold. Top 8 by games/points go through automatically into Top 16 after lunch. Remainder in Gold Cadrage played as soon as possible after all morning results are in to determine who will compete in the Top 16 (seeded from morning results).
Note that winning the poule and even winning all your games in the poule does not guarantee automatic progression to the Top 16. It may come down to games/points between undefeated players.

Note that in the extra end, the jack is marked and is replaced if it goes dead. There is no dead end in the extra end if it is played out. Lunch takes place at conclusion of poules.
GOLD – winners of 3 leagues plus runners up from group of 6 plus next 4 best scores by games/points go into Top 8.
