Petanque England’s National Youth Squad are pleased to announce that we will be attending the 2021 Junior World Championships being held in Santa Susanna, Spain.
Squad members JJ Hinkley, Sam Ratue, Ballie Inglis and Angus Hamilton will be our England Team for the Junior Championship, which is being held in Santa Susanna at the same time as the Women’s Championship between the 12th and 14th November.
JJ will be our designated shooter in the Precision Shooting competition.
The lads are thrilled to be going to the World Championship following almost two seasons of uncertainty. This is an exciting time for the team, who will all be attending their first Championship and especially exciting for Sam and JJ who will both be only a month away from no longer being classed as juniors.
The boys have remained relentless in their preparation for a Championship event despite the many changing COVID-19 restrictions and they have all have grown tremendously over this time. The various international preparation events we had planned all got cancelled, but they have worked together frequently in England and will without doubt give 100% effort to the Championships.
We know the team will have great support and we wish them every success in Spain.
