NewsYoung players out early season

8th March 20190

Cottered PC (Chiltern) was the venue on Sunday 3rd March for a coaching and C Squad day organised by PE’s National Youth Squad.

Despite the weather not being the best – it is March after all! – not one single young player pulled out. Toni Gates, who leads on NYS said, “It was really good to see the improvement in our regular juniors and to see them so excited for the coming season but it was equally as good to see lots of new faces too. It is always really nice to start the season off with an event like this it stokes your passion for the game watching the dedication of these players who yesterday ranged from 6 years old to 17 years old.”

Former NYS member Jason White (now part of PE’s national Espoirs setup) was present at the session to pass on some of his experiences to the young players.

Next up for our young players will be the 2019 Singles and Precision Shooting Championship to be held on 24th March at The Plough, Langford (Chiltern). The top four performers in the precision shooting will earn the right to play in the semi finals and finals to be held under floodlights at the inter-regional championships at Hayling in September 2019.
