The 2025 SCPA Adult-Junior Competition at Portchester brought sunshine, skill, and strong teamwork as 16 junior-adult pairs battled for gold. Alex & Steve retained their title in a thrilling final, highlighting the growth and inclusivity of junior pétanque.

Saturday 12th July 2025 saw glorious sunshine and some equally brilliant play as Portchester Pétanque Club hosted the SCPA Adult-Junior Competition. With 16 junior players partnered by 16 supportive adults, the day was a showcase of teamwork, skill-building, and sporting spirit.

Throughout the day, spectators were treated to a series of hard-fought matches, with juniors gaining valuable experience—many playing some of their longest and most competitive games to date. The competition was played in great spirits, and it was clear that the standard of play continues to grow across the region.

All four group winners battled their way into the semi-finals, where both matches proved to be closely contested and could have gone either way. In the end, it was Alex and Steve who edged out their opponents to retain the title they won in 2024, narrowly defeating Matthew and David in a tense final.
