Umpires are at the heart of every competition, ensuring that the rules of pétanque are applied consistently and fairly.
While umpiring can be demanding, it is deeply rewarding for those who love the game, respect its rules, and are committed to fairness and good judgement.
Our umpires are trained to the highest standards, officiating at national tournaments across England. A select few who excel also have the opportunity to represent England and officiate at events overseas.
