Junior Coaching Team:

Junior Lead : Claire Geddes

I have been playing for 7 years, along side my Family. Having been involved with Juniors through my children, Jane and Amy, I wanted to support the system for all Juniors. To create an environment to encourage all age juniors to have fun, while learning the sport. Having the confidence to competitively compete at whatever level you want to. I also want to give you opportunities to Juniors that want to get more involved with Petanque.

Skills Award scheme

The Pétanque England (PE) Skills Award scheme, launched in 1996 by David Lavelle, helps young players develop their skills from beginner to advanced level.

Juniors begin with the White award and progress through Green, Red and Blue. The higher levels focus on consistency and technical ability for national and international play. Awards are earned over time as players gain experience.

Each level has set requirements. Successful candidates receive a medallion and certificate, with recognition at Club, Regional and National levels.

PE-qualified club coaches can guide juniors through the scheme, with support from Regional Development Officers or PE Juniors if needed.

The scheme offers a clear, rewarding path for young players and a structured approach for coaches. We thank Samueljacks Teamwear for sponsoring the scheme and providing awards.
