Due to the resignation two days ago of John Edmondson, who has filled this role with distinction for several years, we seek a new chair of the Events Group to join or work with the board.

Members will readily understand the importance of filling this role quickly and effectively.  Without it, we shall struggle to put on the series of events that currently fills our playing calendar!

Applicants will need good organisational and communication skills but it is by no means essential that the person filling the role is an ‘elite’ level player.

The key functions of the role include:

• Liaising with clubs and regions annually to create the major events calendar

• Identifying and negotiating with clubs having facilities appropriate to each event

• Ensuring the appropriate joining instructions are issued to members in timely fashion

• With the assistance of identified club and/or regional officials, ensuring the smooth running of each event

• In liaison with nominated partners, planning and organising of all facilities needed at the Inter Regionals tournament

• Liaising with the board in ensuring appropriate board representation at each event

• Keeping appropriate records up to date, including honours boards on the website
