The Board of Pétanque England is responsible to the Membership for the running of the sport in England. The Board can consist of up to 10 member appointed Directors. The Board has responsibility for the legal, financial and safeguarding aspects of running the company as well as ensuring the sporting, people, communication, and development functions takes place to achieve the Vision of the sport. At present there are 3 vacancies for PE Members to join the Board. Candidates may put themselves forward for consideration and election at the AGM which is to be held later this year. The Board needs to have a collection of skills to undertake its task. We recognise that we need additional skills in areas such as playing, social media, communications, marketing, fund raising and legal. Kevin Moss, current Chair of Events, has kindly put himself forward (subject to election at the AGM) to drive the playing side forward, but we do need others for the other areas.

In addition to these immediate vacancies, we are also looking for a suitably skilled candidate to take over the role of Treasurer.  Cary Bush, our current Treasurer, must step down in 12 months’ time as he will then have reached the limit a Director can serve under our Articles of Association. Ideally, we would like someone to shadow him over the next 12 months to take on the role at the end of 2027. This is all part of the succession planning we want to have in place so that we have smooth handovers.

Ideally, we would like to have expressions of interest by 6th November so that suitable proposal forms can sent. You must be a current Member of Pétanque England .
