A fantastic weekend in Worthing showcased the inclusive and growing appeal of pétanque across England.
The May Bank Holiday weekend once again showcased everything that makes pétanque such a fantastic and inclusive sport, with an outstanding festival of competition hosted in Worthing.
Across three days of action, players competed in 64 Doubles entries, 42 Triples teams, and 56 Singles players, creating a brilliant atmosphere both on and off the pistes.
It was particularly encouraging to see players of all abilities taking part, from experienced competitors to those newer to the sport, alongside a strong turnout of juniors eager to test themselves against adult opposition. Events like this highlight the welcoming and intergenerational nature of pétanque, where everyone can compete together and enjoy the spirit of the game.
Events such as this continue to demonstrate the strength, community spirit, and growing appeal of pétanque across England.
